I used to be fascinated with “celebrity” until I decided my time was much more valuable than reading about famous people going to the supermarket, or discussing their personal lives….again. But, there are some things that I never get tired of. I’m enthralled with the work of people, and learning about how they see what they do and what motivates them in their work. That I have tolerance for, whether they are known or unknown to the world. I have some interior design interest, as do many of you. Although I don’t have enough interest to actually do it. Anyway you may have heard of KWID or Kelly Wearstler Interior Design, or you may have seen Ms. Wearstler on some Bravo channel design show (at least I think it’s Bravo). In the world of interiors, she is a very well known designer. If you know of her even more than that, she definitively has her own obviously unique style and vibe-which I really like about her. Which might be the reason why her blog is called My Vibe My Life. It’s Ms. Wearstler, her life, style, and work-with big fat glossy pictures. The text is minimal but the pictures are plentiful and say a lot about her world. Take a look! It’s always interesting to feel someone else’s Vibe and peek into their life.

Interior design blogs, just like fashion blogs perplex me. Where do they find all of these good images all the time? But a great interior design blog has more than good images. It has a flare, a style of its own only best expressed through an interesting blogger. Therefore, it may not be fair to call Escapade simply an interior design blog, because it hits, fashion, DIY ideas, and Esty finds all done in a stylish way. Clearly Sharalee Mushore, the blogger,
has more interests and points of view she has to express. Express she does, in an interesting way. I’ve spent hours at a time on this blog getting inspired and motivated. This leads me to the best part, Ms. Mushore’s Inspiration for the week. They are good thoughtful quotes that propel the dullest of spirits upward. Here is my favorite. If you want to be inspired visually and emotionally I think it best to take an Escapade. It is only during these times that our thoughts and dreams collide turning into action.
Interior design, furniture…absurd, and who knew, funny
Sometimes you can’t believe what’s going on. I don’t mean what’s going on in your life (although I won’t dispute the bewilderment of it). I mean what can go in the realm of interior and furniture design. It makes me speechless. It makes me laugh a lot. It is all do to Joy and Janet the brain child(ren) behind Moggit. I have never seen such absurd design asthetic and ideas (but thinking out of the box is always good) manifested for “everyday living?” Then the absurdity is coupled with Joy and Janet’s clever, succinct, and extremely humorous commentary. You should seriously not miss this blog. Moggit thankfully provides multiple hilarious on a daily basis. While Moggitt is a relatively new blog, I hope it is around for a long time. Because every day should be a Moggitt day.
Check out the September 7, 2009 post Mmm-hmm that’s my favorite so far.
The Cerebral Part of Interior design
Over the weekend I had what I call inner pandemonium. It is where I am calm & cool on the outside but inside I’m inpatient, frustrated and overall dissatisfied. What, you may ask ,was causing my inner pandemonium? My house. It’s a 1950’s do that needs some serious interior aesthetic appeal. However, as is my normal course of anything design related be it interior or landscape, I always research the [insert word] out of it before I make a move (which leads me to making no moves at all, unfortunately). So I have found a site that feeds into my need for interior design information (not procrastination…just information), not just in pictures but design concepts and history thus giving me the potential for a Pure Style Home.
This Blog Truly Inspires a Way of Living
I believe everyone dreams about the way they ideally want to live. Those dreams must start somewhere, some from a realtive’s stories about distant travels or through the eyes of a favorite character in a beloved book. In today’s society, very often dreams are conjured up by images of how others live. This gives rise to the possibility of how you too can live. Desire To Inspireprovides that visual imagery be it modern, traditional, deco, or eclectic, that gives rise to your possibility. It does so on almost a daily basis. Jo (an interior designer from Australia) and Kim (a design junkie/Web developer from Canada) have created a site that makes you want to redecorate your home over and over again because no matter how good it looks now, the possibilities are endless. However, if you’re looking for intricate analysis about the decors they provide, you’ll be looking a long time. Furthermore, easy topic selection, such as by design style or interior designer, is not possible despite having an internal Google search prompt of the site. But these missing pieces are not the point of the site (although it would make it even better). Rather, it’s goal is to inspire your creative juices through professional imagery, so you want to finally tackle that bedroom, bathroom, outdoor room, family room…or which ever room it may be. And tackle you must after visiting this site.
